The JL Cowl
The JL Cowl was originally sculpted digitally in Zbrush before being 3d printed. This was restored from a raw 3d scan. It was the second time I had worked with a raw scan, a lot of learning came from this piece as I begin to develop a workflow around cleaning up a digital scan of this size. I was very satisfied with the end result. The cowl itself is cast in a flexible 40 shore urethane rubber which I have found will last a very long time while capturing the details of the sculpture very nicely. The finished piece is completely seamless. The ears of the cowl have been filled to hold their shape.
The sculpture was sculpted around a 24-inch digital head armature.
